Hi Dave B; I don't think there's a conspiracy on the part of the current administration.

Neither do I.

Rambus longs do have a history of complaining to the authorities more than Rambus bears on this thread.

Interesting. How do you know this? I didn't realize that SI published that information. Or are you just claiming this based on people saying "I complained to SI"?

carl:

I told you that P4 were going to come in hot and heavy last week. I checked IM today and it seems that 10K of P4 @ 1.5 GHz with 2 64 RIMMS are coming in by June 5. That's one distributor, one week, one SKU. If you add up other speed grades and RIMM levels you get about another 5K coming in this week.

This is not the be all and end all of Intel CPU sales but we are getting closer to more P4's then P3's check levels of most popular P3 1 GHZ and you see only 1600 coming in by Jun 15.

The most important point is that Intel is only charging about 10% more for a P4 1.5 GHZ vs P3 1GHZ even if you count for adding cheap SDRAM.

It is based upon $40 for value of 128 MB of SDRAM and $100 for 128 MB of RDRAM. RDRAM "value" of $100 is confirmed by delta in price of P4 with 2 128 MB RIMMS.

Note: IM has 6 warehouses so you see 6 sets of numbers and dates

Carl, Scumbria got in trouble the first time for using a garden variety insult very similar to one little Ricky has used many times here, coached by the i-for-imbecile guy. It's hard to say whether the first offense or the second one was more trivial, but the first offense definitely involved a more intelligent target that little Ricky. Not that that's saying much.
