Maybe the crux of the problem is the amount of power used by California. Perhaps that makes it a consumption issue, or a conservation issue, or even a population issue.

There is plenty of power to be had out there. The spot market has just been allowed to run unfettered, with the Enrons of the world charging whatever they like. You and I, as consumers, will bear a disproportionate share of the bill, as we always do.

Seems to me the crux of the Cali problem is industry run amuck. If only I knew how to spell amuck.
