As a result of my belief that we are wending our way into a full-blown depression, I have been digging into small companies that might benefit from the arrival of the expected nasty deflationary scenario by being positioned to benefit from increased infrastructure rebuilding. Rightly or wrongly, I have reached the conclusion the sewer and water projects are going to be consequential recipients of government attention and largess, both now and even more so in the future (see earlier posts for details). As I am not the only dim bulb who sees things this way, one finds that more established players in this territory are appropriately priced and hence are not likely to provide the kind of upside I prefer. I prefer "juniors" for this kind of "shot" in any event, as involvement on the short side of the tech sector provides the low risk (from my perspective) game for at least the next few quarters, and a high risk/high reward "long" situation that provides exposure to the sewer/water game might provide a decent return if my hypothesis proves accurate. As noted earlier, I have found a situation that has some potential. As I prefer not to discuss individual stocks on the thread, if any are interested in this wallow in "grey water", I will PM some stinky, smelly thoughts to those who chose to poke at a genuine "sewer rat" with a PM pole. Don a gas mask before typing. (g) Best, Earlie
