Hi, I am also checking the short interest table:

For Amat;
SI was 27.9M on 3-15-01
SI shooted up to 37.5M on 4-15
Went down to 32.5M on 5-15

For Csco;
SI was 64M on 3-15
92M on 4-15
Back to 80M on 5-15

So aggressive shorts during the April low and heavy covering during the first two weeks of the May.
