What Koisumi promised his electorate, was the way I understood it, pretty much in the vein of Churchill's "blood, sweat and tears". The reaction this time was as positive as it was back in Britain. We all agree Japan economy is pretty much sick and there's been so much doctoring around it, that one is forced to admit it's one hell of a patient (g). I just remember all those turkeys coupla years ago making noise about deregulating or opening up the financial systems etc - nobody even dared to hint at the possible alternatives for monetizing the problems in the banking -.

Just wanted to support the idea that things may start to unrevel faster now in Japan, with some consequences elsewhere.

Re Japan, USA: the situation reminds me of a standard russian/communist joke:"The capitalistic system is at the brink of disaster - communism is one giant step ahead."
