I actually said I like passion bound by guiding principle. You say its feeling and caring for others. Well there are all kinds of feelings. Emotions are expressions of feelings and they certainly can get out of one's control.

For example: You seem a little over wrought in this reaction. "If you think that's like a wildfire, I don't know what planet you are from."

"It may be fun to turn the truth like a sword and make people hurt, but it isn't always the right, compassionate, or even helpful thing to do" I understand that you were probably with your students today. If you followed the discussion of the day, however, I don't understand this accusation which doesn't represent my tone or anyone elses in the discussion.

There was quite a discussion today between Karen, Neocon and I in which I made it pretty clear that information exchanges between people that involved the truth about personal issues was a delicate matter. That one should not go blabbing every truth to everyone the moment that it is known. The context of "Tell the Truth" in the discussion was not only "Rather than Telling Lies" but when qualifiers such as Karens "breach of trust" and the "need to know" would come into play.
