As I understand the term "Gossip" it is pretty objective and generally considered bad by most reasonable people. It is usually thought of as idle talk about a third party. It might be based on true information but the information shared is not on a needs to know basis and is likely hurtful of the person being talked about.

This is a surprise, since you were the first to point out that the truth unbridaled could cause harm in some cases. I figure this to be the primary example. Gossip is gossip whether "I" call it gossip or not. Or, were you just locked onto attack mode?
