I take it this is why you are asking ? The Company recently announced the issuance of a sixth patent in its antibody expression family of patents that broadly covers methods for secreting antibodies from bacteria. Bacterial antibody expression is a key enabling technology for the discovery and selection as well as development and manufacture, of many recombinant antibody-based pharmaceuticals. The Company has licensed its expression technology to over 20 companies worldwide. In the first quarter XOMA concluded such licenses with Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc., a biopharmaceutical company and Syrrx, Inc., a structural proteomics and drug discovery company.
