"Isn't truth usually bound up in "personal" matters?" Originally I wasn't thinking of it only in that way but the context of discussion has only been in the sticky personal way. "If it isn't personal it is no effort, and there is no problem, telling the truth." It shouldn't be but I have met some people who have a pathological problem with expressing or accepting simple truths. And, I agree that isn't where this discussion has been focused. You "seem" a bit defensive. Does your position feel a little weak? No, not weak; I have happily enriched it during the day and through discussion and it seems like your strongest concerns about a sterile "Tell the Truth" dictum have been addressed and could be dispelled. In other words I think we have something closer to agreement than opposition here. I bet I could pull ten people off the street to read your first three posts this evening and they would all think you were ticked at me.
