Greg , it's not so late here on the west coast...so that one doesn't witness your sneaking onto the thread in the late hours of the night , spewing your little rants
and signing off, as if you were engaging in some kind
of rational dialogue.

You repeat your rant & ramblings as if to some
imaginary audience you think is listening to you ...
And then seem to muffle/shuffle off , hairs bristling
like you have just slain some dragon.

Do you also hear the sound of a
applause in the recesses of
your mind as well ?

Perhaps there's the silent howl of demonic
voices whispering in
that overgrown vacant~lot that is your brain
telling you what to do also ?

" Let me tell you why I believe the bible is the word of God. Very simply, Jesus rose from the dead, and He taught, that the bible was/is the
word of God. "

It always seems the weakest minds , are the one's
that seem to need the "miracles" to
be believers . It is the easiest common form of
narrative that your mind can grasp
and remember .

The gospels portray Jesus was a reasoning man ,
one who rejected any kind of faith based just
on a miracle, sign , or blind obedience to law .
He sought freely believing people
and disciples .

I think you haven't really a clue as to the
irrelevence of the things you site to support
your cause , other than such a simple-minded
claim of

There was a miracle , so therefore it must be true.

If you ever dared to discuss just the core beliefs
and focus on the principals of higher ethics & moral teachings , rather than resorting to placing all the emphasis on "questionable" miracles ,you might find
the discussions less encumbered with "vituperation",
even with Solon.

Ethics , or as Jesus might have said man's duty &
"divine purpose"
might be a more illuminating subject to
discuss rationally, than having to go
down that old endless detour of worshipping
"miracles " as the final proof .
( so that ends of the discussion for greg.)

Other people might like to hear more reason , I think
Jesus may have had a more immediate
message than that <g>

" you're some kind of brilliant thinker but you're just like a dog chasing his tail. As for Pedophilia, I think that deserves a post of it's own, but it will have to wait till morning.

I'm sure that will be extremely enlightening.<gg>

big·ot (bĭg'ət)

n.
One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

WORD HISTORY: A bigot may have more in common with God than one might think. Legend has it that Rollo, the first duke of Normandy, refused to kiss the foot of the French king Charles III, uttering the phrase bi got, his borrowing of the assumed Old English equivalent of our expression by God. Although this story is almost certainly apocryphal, it is true that bigot was used by the French as a term of abuse for the Normans, but not in a religious sense. Later, however, the word, or very possibly a homonym, was used abusively in French for the Beguines, members of a Roman Catholic lay sisterhood. From the 15th century on Old Frenchbigot meant β€œan excessively devoted or hypocritical person.” Bigot is first recorded in English in 1598 with the sense β€œa superstitious hypocrite.”

Who was more advanced in this situation? Certainly not the marauding Spaniards. Convert, give us your gold and then die.

Do you support that pottery boy?

I took the liberty of removing all the crap and personal insults and invective from your post. This is the only way of deciphering whether or not you had actually said anything. Obviously I cannot respond to your bitter vomitus. I can only take the cloth of kindness and wipe it away--this, so as to be able to examine the actual content of your posts.

Here is what you actually posted. I have left nothing out of substance or relevence. I have, however, left out the majority of your post--the vomitus. My response will follow in bold.

Are you absolutely sure your positions are not fixed? If you are you just talking in circles and your statement is self refuting

No, I not absolutely sure (I do not have God's surety). However, I am logically sure--and this gainsays your objection. The Absolute is not a requirement for argument.

Let me tell you why I believe the bible is the word of God. Very simply, Jesus rose from the dead, and He taught, that the bible was/is the word of God.

You read that in a book. It is not an Absolute Truth. It is not even a logical truth. It is merely an arbitrary fantasy--something you read in a tribal book.

Sorry, I don't claim to "possess" ABSOLUTE TRUTH. Jesus did, and he is God. It was Jesus who said "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me"

Again, you read that in a book. It is not an Absolute Truth. It is not even a logical truth. It is merely a story in a tribal book.
