...I understand pricing mechanism concepts, and it seems pretty obvious that with our new rate hikes and tiered surcharge system a form of them are now being implemented. ...

Do you have an url with a good, simple, description of the rate hikes and surcharges?

TIA, Don

Portage,
You claim to understand economics. Just saying so, doesn't mean it is so. Perhaps you graduated from some CA univ./college that institutionalizes self-esteem and multiculturalism for intellectual rigor.

As a prisoner of your own myth, "common sense" etc., I don't want to suggest you read the latest report from Energy Information Administration. Rather, this brief statement will "enlighten" you why so many people are tired of clueless people. If you measure radiation with a thermometer, common sense will tell you it is harmless…duh.

Yes, I believe in price caps and price controls, too. I want prices to be legislated at $1.00 /gal. Can't wait to watch the results of creative legislation on TV when CA learns there is no gas to be had at that price. LOL is what I told the last fella who claimed he could drain the bilge in his boat by drilling a hole....Common sense that water would drain.

Suggest you take a refresher course.

<Don, I've had more than enough economics and statistics classes and utilization in my work environment to understand the basics>

Then why do you continue to confuse the following with economics OR a long term solution????

<The question here is not the basics of pricing mechanisms - it is preventing extreme gouging and gaming of a basic need, whether it's done illegally, illicitly, undetectably, or legally, >
