I disagree. Hitler was not trying for chaos. He wanted order. Extreme order. Beneficialness has nothing to do with it. I don't know why you threw that in, or the demon thing. They seem unrelated to me.

Marvelous! By acknowledging a belief in "deep structure" in the universe, X has just conceded my minimal requirement for construing the universe as having meaning, i.e., positing a "Logos" or "Dharma" immanent in things. Thus, we are part of the same reality after all.....

We experience a world with purpose and beauty, and conceive of the conditions necessary for that to be true. They may range from a belief in an immanent Logos or Dharma, to a belief in multiple divinities under the aegis of an encompassing destiny, to monotheism. The intelligent design argument specifically argues the inconceivability or extreme improbability of this complex universe evolving without guidance or interference. I am not arguing that. I am arguing that in the world we live in and experience, as opposed to the one abstractly put forth by scientism, the idea of divinity resonates.....
