I don't want to argue with a PH but the productivity gains came from the implementation of information technology. The root of that gain comes from the architecture used. Computers weren't invented in the early 90's.

Putting up a website is a simple example that allowed companies to get rid of whole departments whose sole purpose was to provide information. Also, the main cost in software is maintenance not initial development. HTML and client-server revolutionize this.

Hey mitch, keep telling yourself that's an important project you're working on. I think all my projects were (wink, wink) "important", "critical".
