During this (overly-)optimistic phase, the buyers are anxious to get in. They think the calls are a great deal and the call writers make them pay for the privilege of owing the call in such an optimistic setting.

I see the argument, Ken, just not happy with the consequences. I'm not terribly eager to get into short term market timing strategies. If cc writing calls for that, I may well learn enough so it's available as a tool for what appear to be the right circumstances but use it very sparingly. Early learning stages.
