Blow HArd Dan - re: "About the only thing AMD has been any good at lately is growing revenue and profits"

Why don't you post AMD's revenues for the past 3 or 4 quarters ?

Alibi Dan - Re: "AMD may or may not make any kind of meaningful entry into the server market this year. "

Geeezzz...after you blow it up our backends how AMD was going to make major inroads LAST YEAR in the server market !!!

Looks like AMD's one year slip is now becoming at least a TWO YEAR SLIP !!

Re: according to you, AMD was supposed to ship SMP ... I posted DDR in August, not SMP. Although there are reports of such boards sampling, it looks like a 2 month delay (to October) for those parts to make it into retail.

Mea Culpa.

That delay is a real embarrassment for AMD, especially when contrasted with Intel's on schedule launch of the 1.13 GHZ PIII.

Blowing Harder All The Time Dan - Re: "Nice to see Intel is going all out introducing two new incompatible server lines to confuse the few potential buyers of their existing line in the middle of a server sales collapse. "

Choices, Dan - it's all about choices.

Seems like Intel has offered TWO choices - and IBM, Compaq, Dell, HP Gateway, NEC etc. have adopted BOTH of them - XEONS and ITaniums.

Seems like these same OEMS have turned up their noses on AMD's DEAD-END choice - an AthWiper-2P-in with 760 eMPty !!

Dan3:

Re: Net change: more revenue, profit, and market share gains for AMD.

Where are you getting this stuff? Revenues for the past four quarters at AMD have been flat at $1.170B, $1.207B, $1.175B, and $1.189B, while earnings have been declining dramatically recently: $1.176 in Q300, $0.528 in Q400, and $0.37 in Q101.
