I think WTU and other coal stocks are good long-term bets. They ran up so fast I was just trying to decide when to jump in during this correction. I like to play options and use some leverage so I would be inclined to play something like ACI. I'm not sure MEE is so good though, they seem to have a lot of problems. ARLP is another one that interests me.

Of course as with many gold stocks, you have to research how much forward selling these companies have done at much lower prices. I would tend to want to play the most leveraged players as long as they have a decent balance sheet and I'm partial to the plays that have options traded on them.

I would think you would make out quite well over the next few years buying a whole basket of coal stocks here now that they are coming back down a bit.
