I think the latency between current PC100 SDRAM solution and RDRAM is not the most important concern but cost above all other issues for a given memory configuration. Board space, give me a break, boards could be designed to put all chips on one piece of fiberglass. I seem to remember that AMP was qualified for special RIMM connectors for repeater usage over a year ago. With your rapid typing skill you should be able to find out more about it's existance in today's market. I think that this RIMM connector is used for repeaters would be one per channel. I don't think this space would be any issue in full sized tower chassis. If we are talking about 1U rack mount solutions, it is a different thing indeed.
