Basically everything you have wrote applies to buying (or shorting) shares only with plenty of leverage and limited time to exaggerate the effect. Shoot, options could give you a short term upside of 10x+ but could also leave you with zero in short order. I guess that's what I term 'risky.'

What happens the time you buy a put at say $1.50 and the next tick of the underlying shares makes that option worth only $1.25? How do you sell with nothing lost? I'm not looking to beat a dead horse here... just don't want readers to think there is some kind of option (in this case 'put') Holy Grail. There ain't. As to TA usefulness here, jury may still be out, in any event as you say in your profile, Caveat Emptor!
