Why are vouchers always presented as a means to send one's children to private school? I have always viewed vouchers as a means to send one's children to whatever school one desires, public or private. If your kid is in a bad school, but the public school one district over is awesome, why not?

Also why are private schools usually presented as religious schools? There are secular private schools. In Houston I swear to God there's one on every block. The whole vouchers as public subsidizing of private religion is bogus.

Good find Mike. Sad state of affairs. I think part of the problem lies with lazy teachers, but most of it lies with lazy parents.

Maybe the voucher idea will take off.
