Yasser was actually born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. If you listen closely you can still the hear the Scottish burr as he rolls out "Gun totin crrrrrrazies."

<<I prefer to stay neutral and disbelieve all my government tells me>>

EC,

I am more ethereal than you, but agree with the bulk of your posts.

As for Arafat being a criminal, I can also maintain some neutrality since all governments have criminals.

Regarding the Middle East, the likelihood of the situation improving significantly is remote with only the prospect of collateral damage ever increasing.

<<You website has a background colour of green which is a sacred colour in Muslim countries.>>

Thanks. Did not know this. Based the colors on US money.

Doug Casey made an excellent point recently:

<<The problem with a government - any government, because it's the nature of the beast - having substantial revenue is that it will fritter, dissipate, siphon and misallocate it away; it's completely inevitable, certain and predictable. That's because governments necessarily do things that are politically productive rather than economically productive. They don't respond to profits (which indicate new wealth is being created), but to popularity (which usually indicates lots of people are getting something for nothing, a condition which leads to bankruptcy). A patriotic citizen in any country will, therefore, do his best to deny revenue to the State; only an idiot (or the typical voter/taxpayer) supplies the hangman with a noose.>>
