I deal with second graders, not first. And I miss Cosmic's and Steve's presence too. I am amused anyone would think I am in the business of affirming belief. I would, of course, like to affirm my Buddhist boy's belief, but it's not my place even to affirm what I actually believe in (religious belief wise). It's is only my place to keep order (and I have to keep down religious discussion and divisiveness), to teach the core (now mandated by Sacramento) and to provide as much enrichment education as I can. I would have to lie to children if I had to affirm their belief in things I do not believe in. I would not do that. I would prefer not to teach if that was a requirement.
