10:02 ET NAPM Report : The May NAPM index fell to 42.1% vs consensus of 43.7% and below
April's 43.2%. Orders also fell, to 45.5% from 45.9%. These figures are consistent with the sharp decline in
manufacturing payrolls reported earlier today -- both reports suggest that the manufacturing sector remains
in recession. In a separate report, construction spending rose 0.3% in April, which was close to
expectations.
