I don't doubt that Iran will continue to attempt to subvert Turkey's secular government. But the Turks, overall, understand that Islamic fundamentalism has little to offer them economically. They lack the oil wealth to subsidize such a system. This is in stark contrast to Iran, which can afford to "toy" with such economically restrictive systems which outlaw "usury" (though some use convenient work arounds to permit interest bearing debt wealth construction). Fundamentalism is subsidized by oil wealth. It offers LITTLE in the way of economic relief, and only the amount of social relief that petro-dollars can provide. Any nation assuming a fundamentalist religious system is doomed as a working self-sufficient economy due to its inherent xenophobia. The Turks, having few domestic sources of wealth, understand this.
