selectric ii - at a minimum I would upgrade the hard drive from the 20gb to 40gb for $70. I would also recommend the 32mb video card rather than the std 16mb card for another $30. Likely a college student would prefer the 16x dvd and separate cdrw. Much easier to make back ups and your own music cd's etc.... Could also watch dvd movies on pc. Upgrading spkrs to include subwoofer is also not very expensive and is well worth money in my opinion. If you are in mood to spend even more money, the trinitron monitors offer much better picture quality but are rather pricey. Looks like stepping up to 19" trinitron is almost $300.

good luck

I have a 17" monitor on one computer and a 21" on the other. The larger monitor is much easier to work with for me.

Bigger is better?

:o)
