Tony, it's not (just) the gloating. ;-) It's also the source.

I mean, if The Register or The Inquirer reports it, it's no big deal because we all know their batting average is similar to that of minor league pitchers. But this was EBNews reporting it, a source which usually has more credibility than the tabloids. The reporters for these web sites are the ones who should "check, recheck, and check again." (tm. Jay Leno)

RE:"What happened to the "no gloating" about the AMD server launch? Well, just one or two "gloats" are OK. ;-)"

Ten has a lot of pride at stake so forgive him the weakness.

OTOH, I remember the Athlon launch in June `99 with literally no launch partners and no boxes until the end of August. One motherboard (FIC) and ASUS shipping their's in a brown paper bag.
I guess the point is, lets see what happens in a few months.

Meanwhile, why all the volume on Intel today? It's moving nicely. Nearly double % of AMD and other chip stocks.
