<<Co-President James T. Vanderslice was paid $22.7 million last year. He joined the company from International Business Machines Corp. during fiscal 2000. Mr. Vanderslice's total pay last year, including a $37.5 million sign-up bonus in restricted stock, was $62.8 million.>>

DELL seems to have paid dearly to bring IBM's Vanderslice on board....he has made a fortune in the last 24 months. Yet, how have the average DELL shareholders done in that time period? Just wondering. I hope DELL eventually gets the results they are looking for. IMHO, in this difficult operating environment it's important for ALL top execs to make sacrifices and cut their own compensation when they are cutting jobs and not exceeding Wall Street's expectations. Look how Chambers from Cisco cut his entire salary back and cut all top exec compensation packages. His firm is doing a large round of downsizing like DELL is. Top management needs to send 'the right message' to all stakeholders....Just my views.

Scott
