brian i don't think that it gives up much info. right after you posted the whois link, i received spam (as if on cue!). my practice is when i get obvious spam (and some that is not so obvious but i decide it's spam anyway) is to simply delete it without opening it. i've learned that this is vital in not letting the spammer know that my mailbox is a "live" one. but just for grins i typed the sender info (hule7@hotmail.com) into the whois search field, and here are the results: No match for mailbox "HULE7@HOTMAIL.COM". for experimentation's sake, i tried a few more from acceptable, non-spam sources, and the results were pretty much the same, i.e, nothing. have you tried it? :) mark
