Any alkaline batteries last about 1/4 as long as that of a good 1500mAH NiMH rechargeable.

If you hunt around for them, you should be able to get 8 for $20 or less. The charger will be another $10 or so. If you're into digital cameras that take std AAs, get the NiMH, you'll save tons on batteries.
