doesn't much matter does it? since all investment bets, more or less, are by their very nature forward looking. the rest is merely colorful hindsight...but never foresight.

FWIW: IMO every time I've seen [in my experience as an investment banker and trader] hicups in various financial markets there is always some interest in GOLD, this tells me that if it happens again, there will be again... for me it's enough. <How does one know what trends are favorable and unfavorable without knowing how they played out in the past?> My point is that there is never Ceterus paribus so why bother. It seems clear to me that those following Mises think a financial calamity including ensuing currency debauchment is imminent and you do not... is this correct? Well, let's see!
