I'm still long SYMM. It bounced off the trendline and
now I am hoping it continues to make it's triangle
on the daily chart and weekly too. If it breaks out
that will be really great. They have given 3 different
upside preannouncements to their earnings in the last
few months, and they have a P/E 13.57, and their
PEG ratio is .64 which is REALLY good. Their
growth rate is 38% according to vectorvest.
Symmetricom, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets network synchronization and timing products and intelligent access systems for the global communications marketplace. The Company's time and frequency products control the flow of information (voice, video or data) in telecommunication networks. The Company's products are installed in wireline and wireless networks in more than 60 countries. The Company also supplies intelligent network access systems to global network service providers. In June 2000, the Company formed the AccessMax division, a business unit focused on developing solutions that maximize bandwidth and services in the network access market. Symmetricom's customers include public network providers, Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers, Post Telephone and Telegraph companies, Competitive Local Exchange Carriers, other telephone companies, wireless service providers, cable television operators, Internet Service Providers and communications original equipment manufacturers.
Their product is a niche product and according to the
CEO, should not be too much affected by the economic
slowdown, but I will be watching their earnings
closely on July 19th to see how they are doing.
They also have a new product called GOLONG which doubles
the distance of ADSL so that you can get 50% more people
on ADSL. Revenue should start coming in from that product
soon. That seems to me to also be a niche product that
people need.

They have a 20 million float which is not too large,
and I really can't see too much down side unless they
warn. But the upside preannouncemt recently gives me
hope that they won't.
