Any idea when they might turn profitable, and what the potential is for future earnings?

ie: Panzem:

I have a personal interest in the success of this new drug. My dad is beginning a clinical trial with Panzem this week. He has prostate cancer that has spread, and this seems like the last battle in the war. It sounds promising, but the other treatments sounded promising too, but were just temporary delays in the further spread.

He's going to be taking 8 pills each day and having blood drawn for analysis every week for two months, then once each month thereafter. I'll be following the progress very closely.

Don't let anyone tell you that Prostate cancer is a slow growing disease. I've seen otherwise.

That's good to hear. It's a dreadful disease and any progress toward finding a cure is good news.

Best wishes,

I2

First impression of beige book from dismal.com. Basically, economy is dismal. I haven't seen the actual report yet but it's caused market weakness when it hit

[The Fed’s Beige Book is the most dismal in recent memory. Comments regarding nearly every aspect of the economy indicate either weakening conditions or conditions no better than in early spring. The only bright note is strength in energy exploration, which benefits the few energy-producing regions of the country. Reports from various sources to the regional Fed banks indicated weak conditions for retail sales, tourism, manufacturing, construction and agriculture. There is little hint of a turnaround in any of the regions outside of the oil and gas producing area of the Gulf Coast and parts of the Mountain West.}
