I think the amount of horsetrading that will occur will depend on the state from which the nominees are drawn. In California, with two Democratic Senators, they have already they have already reached an agreement to put together bipartisan committees to screen judicial nominees. You are either going to get a lot of moderate judges, or some conservative judges Bush wants, and some liberal judges Boxer and Feinstein want. I imagine it will be the former.
