OT -- Brian,
Try looking for older apps/web pages. CNET and Hanandgo are geared too much towards selling the apps. There are a number of older apps that work just fine. You're more likely to find them in personal palm pages. I don't have a site for you, but I suggest you go to Yahoo Palm page. BTW, I highly recommend getting Avantgo, Vindigo, and Launcher. They are all freeware.

Heh heh. I'll bet every programmer on this list is cringing at that statement. Optimizing a program for size can be *extremely* difficult and time consuming.

I'm a writer, not a programmer, but I'm cringing, too. Writing "tight" is much more difficult than running long.

It's not just Palm apps, though. Compare the non-upgrade price of something like MS Office with the price of the computer it runs on.
