Yup DJ, everybody is looking for alternatives, at junctures between the known and unknown. CFA exam was apparently packed, as others are also looking for alternatives. Results out in July. Last Wednesday, all appointed meetings were cancelled in China for the top layer of leadership with a few hours notice, and they met amongst themselves from 9:00am-9:00pm discussing I do not know what. Very unusual. The highways leading towards Fujian, Shanghai and Northern Guangzhou are supposedly choked with rockets and troop convoys, and Yichang, where I was for the power plant deal, was swimming with amphibious crafts (Yichang is close to one of the factories that make these things along the Yangtze River). The 'largest exercise' was announced Friday, do not know the code name, but objective is not Japan or Philippines :0) For America, ME or Taiwan, oil or chips, Jews or Blue Chinese, Arabs or Red Chinese. Pentagon may want to rethink the one war theatre scenario a bit more. Insurance rates of ships going to Taiwan will be jacked up again, making semiconductors costing a bit more, selling for the same or lower price. Talk about profit squeeze! President Chen better hurry up with his Latin America trip. Nothing bad will happen, as usual, but what fun ... watch Taiwan NT$ and stock indices. Will window shop HK shares this week, line up the hits, and ready to execute. Nothing yielding less than 4% accepted. Chugs, Jay
