Even high quality bonds, i think, are hardly risk-adverse, given their vulnerability to interest rate swings. but that's a whole nother topic about which i know not much.

I certainly agree with you regarding CDs. prob is that Wells Fargo is paying 4+% for LT CDs right now. BFD ! Do you have any idea how easy it is to find high quality energy companies with great prospects and reasonable PEs paying comparable dividends ? Granted there is more risk, but i still think the dividends provide a stock price floor, as long as LT fundamentals look promising.

I really have no more money i can afford to lose, but i still can't pass up energy right now.....
