Amots, true democracies are often too expensive for many nations, but even the less developed world, including many Arab nations, are slowly marching in that direction. Iran just had free elections and while still precarious, they may be slowly marching in that direction. Turkey, while not an "Arab" country, has an Islamic majority, and their democracy, while not perfect, is also marching in the right direction. Jordan is a democracy framed along the British model, with a King and a parliament. Lebanon has for a long time been a democracy, and is marching back into that direction. Others will sooner or later join. Nothing really good can come out of "generalization", nor characterization of this regime or that regime as "intrinsically" bad or good. Once enough Palestinians understand that unlike what they are being told (eventually, the Arab world is going to throw the Israeli to the Mediteranean Sea, time is on their side...), time is not working in their favor, they will come to table and accept fair arrangements. They should understand hat the longer they wait and engage in that senseless terrorism, the less they get in a finalized "deal". They should know that there is a price to pay for aggression and terrorism, otherwise, as you say, they will have no incentive to stop it, as Sadam said, he'll fight "Zionism" to the last drop of Palestinian blood.
