Treasury secretary anticipates economic turnaround

WASHINGTON — Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill said Sunday he is encouraged by recent employment figures and believes ''the pieces are in place'' for an economic recovery. He said he was ''heartened'' by a report Friday showing that the unemployment rate improved in May for the first time in eight months.

If the suicide bombings don't stop I see irresisitble pressure building on the Israelis to retaliate.
