they were giddy, and that was a sell signal for the s-t.. but i disagree that gold will do poorly.

you forget... you can't have deflation with a fiat currency... more of it can always simply be "printed up." the deflation of the 30's was into a dollar that was tied to gold. it limited the amount of buills that coudl be printed. in essence, the deflation was into gold. why do you think they fixed the price and confiscated gold form citizens?? it wasn't cause people were desperate for paper dollars. i'll tell you that much -g-

look at the asian deflation of 97, what happened? their currencies collapsed against the bucka and they saw INFLATION as a result.

this deflation will be no different. it'll be into a store of value... the fiat dollar is not a store of value because al can create trillions with a key stroke and a coupon pass. the deflation will be into gold again, imo.
