D3, >And by the time the server market has started to recover, Intel will have to price its offerings to compete with AMD's - or lose market share there, too.

What, is AMD going to put servers out there with their name on them? Doesn't appear to be any company capable of influencing price that's going to announce a 760 MP server. So who's going to bomb price? If the big ones say they're only building with Intel now, it'll be that way for 2 years minimum. Is the server market going to take that long to recover? Also, AMD is trying to come out at the tail end of the rack server era, with nothing but high power (dissipation) CPU chips. Like introducing a new stagecoach in 1900.

Intel can kiss its formerly high mobile ASPs goodbye.

Think thin 'n light. That's where the sales are going. AMD doesn't do those, nor (again) do they have anything for the blade server market. Even little Transmeta is far ahead of AMD in both of these areas. AMD's lost their muster, but the diehards will keep blustering until long after their sales go into the dumper. Last year's technology, being introduced today, at One AMD Place. "Roadkill" Kumar must be getting ready to come out again.

Blow Hard Dan - re: "Slammed on the desktop by AMD, slammed in the server market by the economy, now slammed in the mobile segment by AMD."

No kidding?

With one model?

You AMDroids are a joke.
