HK waits for CyberWorks to deliver
HONG KONG (CBS.MW) - Pacific Century CyberWorks, once the darling of the Internet in Asia, has put investors on hold for the moment.
Since late last year, CyberWorks has faced a non-stop spate of negative news, including high-profile deals that never materialized, key shareholders selling off their stakes, and a record-high loss.
With each piece of bad news, its stock price continued to fall. On Wednesday, its stock price closed at 2.58 Hong Kong dollars (34 cents), 86 percent off its year-high of 19.05 Hong Kong dollars. Shares are down 45 percent since the beginning of the year.

>>go find me a major world market that is doing better. run along, go find it<<

craig, an improvement from $4 a month to $6 a month is a 50% improvement. it is as if you are trumpeting the 50% improvement and disregarding that $6 doesn't buy sh**. the latter is much more important than the former. your priorities are skewed, imho.

you are too smart to make such a meaningless argument.

>>why are you asking me to provide you with facts. i thought you had all the answers.<<

either you 1. don't know (and this would say a lot!) or 2. you are em-bare-assed to say (and this would say a lot!).

i *know* it is absurdly low. that is *all* i need to know. prove me wrong, craig. can you?

>>then i can tell you that china with it's $4.7 trillion GDP is the second largest economy in the world second only to the U.S<<

craig, china's gdp is half the us'. they have 5 times the people. do the math. add in the fact that MUCH (if not MOST) of what china makes gets exported to the us (and elsewhere) and you begin to see china's poverty. of course, they will all have computers and qualcomm phones - even if they work for 10 years to get them!

this is silly!

i'm not saying china can't continue to grow from its low base. i hope they do. what i'm saying is that their market will in no way shape or form "bail out" the us economy on the strength of an average chinese person buying american stuff. it won't happen anytime soon.

<<you that china with it's $4.7 trillion GDP is the second largest economy in the world second only to the U.S. >>

silly me I thought Japan was the second largest oh well...i guess whatever Asian country happens to be in the news de jour is the second largest economy in the world, second only to the U.S.
