Bill: You really must come to grips with the fact that Rush Limbaugh is a paid basher. He makes his living by bashing people and presenting just one side of the story ... and by giving millions of Americans their "right-wing fix" five days a week. I doubt if he cares whom he bashes as long as it sustains his ratings and his largesse lifestyle. To reiterate: Although I find Limbaugh personally disagreeable because of his boasting and arrogance, my main fault with him is that he frequently doesn't do his homework, as exemplified by his attack on Doris Kearns Goodwin and her upcoming book on Lincoln. Instead of verifying the Drudge link to a London newspaper or having one of his lackeys check the story, he went on air with the unsubstantiated report -- as fact -- and then didn't have the guts to apologize to Ms. Goodwin (or even speak to her when she called to protest) when the "what" of the story was found to be false. I have no reason to doubt Patricia's account of the Chelsea dog story. What I find odd is your denial that such happened, based on Limbaugh's 10-year record of ratings-driven bashing. Haqihana hit the nail right on the head a few days ago when he defined Limbaugh as "showman." Perhaps I have been in error in assigning him credibility if many on the right do not.
