you will love General Clark...he was commissioned a year ahead of me...he is known around as a brilliant tactician and a very level headed but fun guy.

he is a soldier's soldier and commanded troops at every level in his early career. that is a biggy to us grunts.

we never crossed paths on duty, except i heard him speak once or twice...we pursued completely different career paths. he was an armor (tank) officer and specialized in armor and mechanized infantry units. he and General Schartzkopf are our modern day General Patton.

apparently it paints a rather bleak picture, for those who study/practice war, of how the Clinton administration and Nato ran the Kosovo operation. Strategic incompetence squared, with political hacks and lawyers mucking things up like crazy, and Clark the poor schmuck in the middle running things but without much real authority. Why's he coming to Mr. Softee?
