I think he was off for one day; the usual consequence for making bestial comments in a hostile tone. A small island is a fragile environment. There is very little room for privacy. In that sense, public sensibilities are deserving of concern, consideration and respect. I have no authority on the island. I can keep no-one off when the consensus wishes him/her to stay. Other, of course, than myself. I do have authority over my own life as I am unmarried.
