I agree. Oil is very interesting. For one thing, the Middle Eastern producers are tough to figure. The Saudis can turn the taps on and off, but who knows how long that will last. My personal, non-professional opinion is that when oil goes over $30 for a sustained period, that makes some big projects financially feasible (e.g. Caspian Sea, Aussie oil shale). But, like you say, no way does oil stay at $15 for any period of time unless there is another Great Depression..
