15:00 ET Dow +48, Nasdaq +6, S&P +3.92: [BRIEFING.COM] Volume has been extremely light on both the Big Board and the Nasdaq. Total shares traded on the NYSE are roughly 600 million while the Nasdaq has just now surpassed the 1 billion mark. With only an hour remaining to trade, the Nasdaq is well within striking distance of a record low volume session for 2001. As always, the low volume can make for late day volatility and currently the chart would modestly favor a move to the upside. On the broader market, buy interest is evident in oil, paper, health care and chemicals. Sell pressure on retail, transports, restaurants and entertainment are serving as an influential drag in today's session. DJTA -0.4%... DJUA +0.1%... SOX -1.9%... XOI +1.6%... BTK +2.3%...
