Actually, it had to do with your broad-brush treatment of the factoid you posted earlier as generally female and with dependents: 72% of these workers are adults (age 20 and older) It doesn't surprise me since your response to the statistic on children with minimum wage earners was similarly broad-brush. You leapt to a categorization of both groups to suit your opinion. In order to properly treat the subject, You'd have to go into the various subsidies these groups receive outside of wage income and tips, such as the $ 15,000 additonal income exclusion for state income tax, exclusions for property taxes, EITC, SSSI, etc.
