Volume today on Naz was lowest in about 9.5 months. Next lowest volume full day was August 21, 2000 (not counting the half day after Thanksgiving, 11/24/00).

06/04/01 - 1.279

08/21/00 - 1.270

Just something to ponder while doing your market homework tonight.

Hi RR,

"Rudderless market. Searching for direction. Bears thought they had it today but now they scratch their heads."

FWIW, I made a couple of $$ playing in the jello. You're right though. I thought the bears would take control today. Still think they will have the upper hand soon.

I'm still a bull at heart. It's tough putting on a bear suit, but that's where my convictions are right now. Too many open gaps. P/E's approaching bubble high levels with earnings season soon to reveal some bad YOY earnings comparisons. YOY comparisons for the next two qtr's will be tough too.

I just can't justify some current valuations.

The Fed is pumping liquidity so there's plenty of $$ to find it's way into the market. That could drive the market up. But what will sustain it?

JMHO
