Xilinx reaffirms outlook, stock jumps in after-hours

NEW YORK, June 4 (Reuters) - Specialty semiconductor maker Xilinx Inc.
(NasdaqNM:XLNX - news) on Monday said its financial outlook for the fourth quarter
remains unchanged, a statement that defies the recent slump that has led other chip makers to warn of weaker results.

The news, which came in a mid-quarter update, was posted on the company's web site.

The company's stock rose 6 percent in after-hours trading on Instinet, where it was the most-active issue.

Xilinx said it continues to expect June quarter revenues to decline in the range 15 percent to 25 percent sequentially.
Cancellations and order delays have slowed considerably, the company said.

Xilinx also said it expects corporate gross margin to be at the low end of the previously stated guidance of 58 percent to 60
percent. International revenues may exceed North American revenues in the June quarter, it said.

Shares of Xilinx rose $2.53 in after-hours trading to $44.12, after closing at $41.59 in regular trade on the Nasdaq.

I thought everybody else took their vacations all at the same time. I was alone yawning at times while watching trading sooo slooow even forgot to sell at a loss the one I bought earlier at a higher price.... Good! for Xilinx and the rest of the Semis. It's worth following the Rule of the Bear in a bull market: ---"Don't sell Today what you can sell Tomorrow at a Higher price."
