I thought with all the talk about impending nuclear war with China and middle east turmoil, that a little levity would be appreciated. However, some seem to have misinterpreted my remarks. See: biz.yahoo.com and biz.yahoo.com Seems to have last traded May 30th? It seems that I underestimated the intelligence level on SI as I have been inundated with requests as to how they can 'shoot the moon', buy MOON June calls, MOON leap puts and they wonder why JUNE returns 'stock not found'! Others are PMing me nasty messages saying that they are sure the market will not be over the moon by june, and even if it is that my mother was found doing some things I dont care to mention. I thought this kind of crap ended in Jan 2000 when people were buying chinese toilet paper on the internet stocks, bankrupt companies etc. Remember when Joe Kernan would tease : "I am thinking of a stock that is up 600% today, see if you can guess the symbol before I get back after the commercial", then 3 mins later "Sure enough, some of you got it right, its now up 2500%. Congratulations to you lucky winners!" I swear that I saw CNBC report on a company that had declared bankruptcy 6 months earlier, they said they had phoned the company and the person answering the phone confirmed that fact and said that she was still answering the phone from her home and the only ones left were she and the boss and they were just tying up loose ends. As they reported this, the stock continued to skyrocket as shown on the screen. The fact that my comments were taken seriously by nearly all SI inhabitants confirms my suspicion that although it was firmly tongue in cheek that there is an element of truth to it, ie there is a greater than 0 probability that the market can print greater than any chosen number in any chosen time, ie PT Barnum was right.
