Definitely felt a tug of the chain around my neck:0)

Europe? Where is that?

Bit of lighted hearted tap on the key board. Just got back from 3+ hours of HK immigration hell and secured my unconditional landing status in Freedom Rock Kowloon and Money Pot Hong Kong.

Also, just bought cross-over classical energy music by the Bond Sisters. Looking forward to weekend.

On Japan and Asia ex-Japan. There was a IHT survey done on Asian optimism - the questions were basically of the flavor "are you happier now than 10 years ago?" and "do you think you will be happier still 10 years from now?".

The most optimistic folks? Poor Filipinos.

The least optimistic folks? Take a wild stabbing harikari guess, and you would be correct.

Bush, Putin and Estrada are called before God and informed that the world will come to an end in 7 days. They were then sent back down to inform their respective population.

Bush: My fellow Americans, I have got good news and bad news. There is a God. But the world will end in 7 days.

Putin: My dearest comrades, I have got bad news and worse news. There is a God, and the world will end in 7 days.

Estrada: Filipinos, I have got good news and better news. There is a God, and in 7 days, we will no longer have anything to worry about!

My pearl farm buddy will again visit HK this week, and then go to Hawaii. He already added to his private army, to guard the oysters mainly.

It seems I have to eat my words as written to CB ... Palawan (previously noted www.elnidoresorts.com is a part of Palawan)Philippines seems temporarily infested by terrorists who believe in a different god than I, and who prefers lobbing heads off then preparing for parties.

However, the promise of gold and possibly platinum, will buy a certain amount of breathing time, I am sure.

I hope the world does not blowup until Arroyo takes care of the infestation.

The discussions we have on the thread is certainly very topical.

About that Tokyo earthquake ... :0)

To hell with all Hitlers and such facile beliefs that nations have "...biologically determined destinations in which to expand, ..." and I beg you, dear Cobalt, not to take me too literally: the westerly drift of Earth civilisations' rise and fall, if it exists at all, did not *begin* in the Mid-East -- I merely picked a spot midway in the sea of time.
It's been two decades since I last browsed Levy-Strauss. I remember him describing the enormous import certain Amazon people (Tupi Guarani?) attach to their tattoos -- because without those tattoos they would not be themselves, they would be naked, like all the other animals.
I cannot help but think that mobile phones etc. etc. make good tattoos.
(Back to lurk. I have so much to do that I am going to bed.)
